The Sullivan County SWCD Community Garden is a place where people can learn, grow, and connect. As we celebrate our first full growing season, we are excited to continue building a space that brings our community together through gardening, conservation, and education.
Our mission is to empower people to grow their own food using regenerative agriculture practices that improve soil health, conserve water, and support local ecosystems. Whether you are planting your very first tomato or have years of gardening experience, our garden is a welcoming place to learn practical skills that can last a lifetime.
The Community Garden is built on the belief that healthy soil creates healthy food, healthy people, and healthy communities. Gardeners are encouraged to use conservation-minded practices such as composting, mulching, crop diversity, and natural methods of managing pests and weeds. These practices help protect our natural resources while producing nutritious food.
Beyond growing vegetables, our garden serves a larger purpose. We strive to:
